Edward “Pete” McCauley

       Edward “Pete” McCauley, 84, of Marietta, died on Wednesday, December 31, 2008.
       He was born on August 19, 1924, in Marietta, the son of Marshall and Nancy Scott McCauley.  He was a graduate of Marietta High School and a member of Lynch United Methodist Church.  He had retired from Storck Bakery Company in Parkersburg, WV.  He was a decorated veteran of WWII in the U. S. Army, 48th Armored Division.  He was in the European Theater and fought in the Battle of the Bulge.
       On July 6, 1944, he married Marcella Kilmer who preceded him in death on May 28, 2006.  He is survived by a daughter, Nancy (David) Spindler of Marietta and a granddaughter Regan Spindler of Steamboat Springs, CO.
       In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brothers: Harvey McCauley, Frank McCauley and sister Eulalia Jane McCauley all of Marietta.

Roy C. Heiney

            Roy C. Heiney, 91, of Lee Avenue, Marietta, passed away on December 31, 2008, at Marietta Memorial Hospital.
            He was born on November 18, 1917, in Racine, Ohio, a son of William Heiney and Edith Sayer Heiney.  He was a member of First Baptist Church.
            On January 16, 1943, he married Annabelle Hutchinson who preceded him in death.  He is survived by one son and one daughter:  Ronald Heiney of Marietta and Pamela (Christopher) Waldrep of California, 2 granddaughters:  Janell and Andrea Waldrep, brother Jack Heiney of Beavertown, and sister Juanita Beaver of Beavertown.
            He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 2 infant sons, Charles and Dennis, and 3 brothers:  George, Robert,  and William Heiney.
            Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 3rd, at 1:30 at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with burial in New Matamoras Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home after 2:00 pm on Friday until the hour of the service.

Earl “Deanie” Robinson

       Earl “Deanie” Robinson, 76, of Marietta, passed away at 8:15 pm on Tuesday, December 30, 2008, at Harmar Place.
       He was born on May 12, 1932, the eldest child of nine children to Denzil Morris Robinson and Helen Marie Riley Robinson.  He lived at home most of his life before going into a group home and going to WASCO until his health failed and he went to Harmar Place.  He was well loved by everyone who was lucky enough to meet him.  He had a huge smile for everyone and loved all in return.
       Deanie is survived by 2 brothers and 4 sisters:  Anna Mae (Woody) Woodruff of Lowell, David (Gene) Robinson of Marietta, Ruby (George) Phillips of Vienna, WV, Janet (Larry) Boice of Reno, Carol Sciance of Fleming, William (Ellen) Robinson of Marietta, many of nieces, nephews, cousins and aunts and uncles.
       He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers:  Wilbur Robinson and Raymond “Robbie” Robinson.
       Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 3rd, at 10:00 am at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with burial in Warren Chapel.  Friends may call at the funeral home after 2:00 pm on Friday. 

Kathy L. Smith

       Kathy L. Smith, 43, of Macksburg, passed away at 10:00 am on Monday, December 29, 2008, at Camden Clark Memorial Hospital after a long battle with cancer.
       She was born on December 18, 1965, in Marietta a daughter of the late James Emerick and Carol Miller Emerick of Marietta.  Kathy was a graduate of Marietta High School with the Class of 1984, attended Marietta College and was a Notary Public.  She attended Macksburg United Methodist Church, was a homemaker and enjoyed The Caldwell football team.
       On October 1, 1990, she married Frank Smith who survives with 2 sons and 1 daughter:  Jerry (Jessica) Smith, Michael Smith and special friend Taylor all of Macksburg and Samantha Smith of the home.  She is also survived by 3 brothers and 4 sisters:  Larry (Nancy) Emerick of Marietta, Michael (Fancy) Emerick of Waterford, John Emerick of Oregon, Darlene Driggers of Marietta, Connie Berry of Marietta, Sandra (Randy) Offenberger of Waterford, Carol Clay of McConnelsville.
       In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brother Bob Emerick.
       Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 2nd, at 11:00 am at the Macksburg United Methodist Church.  Calling hours will be held at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 7 until 9 and on Friday, 2 hours before the service at the church.  Burial will be in Lund Cemetery.

Winifred Hinzman

      Winifred “Winnie” Spindler Hinzman, 85, of Colegate Drive, Marietta, passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2008, at Harmar Place surrounded by her family.
       She was born on March 24, 1923, in Marietta, a daughter of Louis and Clara Matheny Spindler. 
       She was married to Thomas W. Hinzman who preceded her in death on December 27, 1978.  She was a member of Harmar Hill Church of Christ. 
       Winnie is survived by one son and two daughters:  Charles L. (Patty) Hinzman, Judy (Don) Mahaney and Betsy (Ken) Grosklos; 7 grandchildren:  Scott, Michelle, Heather, Jeremy, Eliot, Jennifer and Jerrod; 4 great grandchildren:  Logan, Liam, Landon,and  Peyten.  Also surviving is her brother Wilbur (Ann) Spindler and sister-in-law Emily Spindler.
       In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother Richard Spindler.
       Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 30th, at 10:30 am at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with W. Terry Varner and J. D. Conley officiating.  Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Lowell.  Friends may call at the funeral home after 2:00 pm on Tuesday with family present from 2 until 4 and from 6 until 8.

Jack E. Lindamood

            Jack E. Lindamood, 63, of Virginia Street, Marietta, passed away at his home on Monday morning, December 29, 2008.
            Jack was born in Painesville, Ohio, on May 15, 1945, a son of Ronald W. and Betty Cundiff Lindamood.  He was a 1963 graduate of Marietta High School.  He is survived by his brother Tom Lindamood.  Jack was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers, Larry Allen and R. Douglas Lindamood.

Juanita King

       Juanita Bell “Judy” King, 82, of Riverview Drive, Belpre, former resident of Marietta, passed away on Friday, December 26, 2008, at her home.
       She was born on February 1, 1926, in Little Hocking, Ohio, to Chester and Mary McGrew Schrader.  Judy was a 1944 graduate of Belpre High School.  She was a member of Pinehurst Christian Church, had been a cub scout mother at Phillips School, a volunteer at Marietta Senior Citizens Center and was a homemaker.
       On April 19, 1947, she married Lester E. “Tater” King who preceded her in death on May 12, 1999.  Judy is survived by 2 sons:  Ron “Ace” King and Clifford King both of Belpre, 2 grandchildren, Joel and Luke King, great granddaughter Dakota King, brother Leo “Buddy” Schrader, sister Ruth Ann Kuhn.
       She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and 2 sisters:  Katherine Sloter and Mildred Britton.
       Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 30th, at 2:00 pm at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with burial in Valley Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home after 2:00 pm on Monday with family present from 2 until 4 and from 6 until 8.

Floyd "Bob" Robert Fleeman

       Floyd Robert “Bob” Fleeman, 85, of Dalzell Road, Whipple, passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2008, Harmar Place.
       He was born on June 29, 1923, in Washington County at home on Fleeman Run Road the son of the late Henry and Lydia Snyder Fleeman.  Bob graduated from Harrietsville High School in 1940.  He served in the United States Navy as a Seaman First Class.  He was awarded the American Area Campaign Medal, Point System Victory Medal, and the Asiatic Pacific Area Campaign Medal.  Bob had farmed and was an oil and gas producer.  He retired from Columbia Gas Transmission Company in 1981.  After retirement he worked in the oil field with his son Paul.  He was a member of the Dalzell Church of Christ.
       Bob is survived by his wife, Anna I. Morris Fleeman, whom he married on November 2, 1946.  He is also survived by 3 sons and their wives:  Robert “Tim” (Kay) Fleeman of Woodsfield, James (Darlene) Fleeman and Paul (Joann) Fleeman of Lower Salem Route 2; 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, sister Fay Fleeman (Harold) Luke of Zanesville.
       He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Frank Fleeman and his wife Ada.
       Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 27th, at 11:00 am at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with burial in Dalzell Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home after 2:00 pm on Friday with family present from 2 until 4 and from 6 until 8. 

Shirley Bellville

       Shirley Sue Bellville, 69, of Masonic Park Road, Marietta passed away at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 20, 2008 at Marietta Memorial Hospital with her family at her side. She was born September 8, 1939 at home near Dalzell on Campbell Run Road to Hiriam Hale and Vivian Irene (Myers) Hupp. On September 8, 1956, she married Jerry T. Bellville Sr. in Marietta.
       He passed away on January 22, 1989. Sue is survived by 2 daughters and 2 sons: Robbin and Daniel Winstanley, Sr of Marietta, Sara and Phillip Johnson of Parkersburg, Billy Bellville (Cathy Cawley) of Williamstown, David and Melissa Bellville of Port St Lucie, Florida.; 8 grandchildren, Danny and Ann Winstanley, Amanda Winstanley, Vivian and Shaun Zoller all of Marietta, Jerry and Mykel Bellville III of Parkersburg, Jeremy and Beth Jones of Midland, Texas, Jarred Jones of Gulfport, Mississippi, serving in the United States Navy, Cortney Bellville of Marietta, who was raised in the family home and Breanna Bellville of Port St Lucie, Florida; 6 great-grandchildren, Devin Winstanley, Kelsie Winstanley and Taylor Zoller all of Marietta. Trinity Prichard, Mykel (Myki) and Jerry (J.T) Bellville, IVof Parkersburg; her brother. Ralph Hupp of Wingett Run, Ohio, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews that she adored and enjoyed. She is also survived by numerous friends and co-workers.
       Sue is preceded in death by her parents, Hiriam and Vivian, her brother, Russell M. Hupp, her husband, Jerry Sr,, her son, Jerry Jr. on April 25, 1984 and her sister-in-law, Louise Hupp on March 2, 2007.
       Sue attended school at Stanleyville and Marietta High. In 1986, Sue and Jerry were
 baptized at Grace Baptist Church in Devola. In August 2002 she received her G.E.D, which other than her family was one of her greatest accomplishments. She had been employed by the Housing and Transportation of Community Action and was a Senior Aide for the Title 5 Program of Community Action and was a bookkeeper/receptionist for The Appalachian Nutrition Network of Marietta.  Sue enjoyed reading, sitting on her porch, spending time with her family and her friends, Dave and MaryLee Symes, Margaret (Peggy) Lake of Marietta and Pam Riley of Parkersburg.
       The family would like to extend their appreciation to Dr. Mirza Hamirani and his Office Staff, Debbie, Stephanie, Shelly, Jen and Dave of Davita Dialysis in Reno, Marietta Memorial Hospital, Dr. Roylance, Dr. Wirtz and Dr. Goulder, 4th floor PICU staff, 3rd floor Special Care staff and 2nd floor Hospice staff, OSU Medical Center, Ross Heart Hospital, Karen , RN on 7th floor, Shirley, Sitter, on 6th floor, Wal-Mart Pharmacy in Marietta and The Devola Volunteer Fire Department for all your help and assistance in the care of our Mother.

Glen M. Fulton

       Glen M. Fulton, 88, of Macksburg, passed away on Friday, December 19, 2008, at 10:52 pm at Marietta Memorial Hospital.
       He was born on August 29, 1920, in Washington County, Ohio, to Clarence and Claire Williams Fulton. Glen was a veteran of WWII serving in the Medic detachment of the U. S. Army.  He was an electrician, a member of Arelius Masonic Lodge #308, VFW Post 5108, American Legion Post 64, Scottish Rite and York Rite, Marietta Shrine Club, and IBEW #972.
       On June 21, 1947, he married Helen Spindler who survives with 2 sons and 2 daughters:  Gary (Lynn) Fulton of Montana, Roy (Sherie) Fulton of Wingett Run, Sherry Fulton and Donna Loar of the home; grandchildren:  John Fulton, Amber Huber, Luke Castin, Autumn Heiner, Hank Castin, Ross Fulton, Tony Sloan, 10 great grandchildren, his brother Leslie Fulton and sister Ruth Wasson both of Warner.
       He was preceded in death by his parents and his son Ricky Fulton.
       Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 23rd, at 1:30 pm at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with Pastor Steven Mahaffey officiating.  Burial will be in Salem Township Cemetery with full military rites.  Friends may call at the funeral home after 2:00 pm on Monday until the hour of the service. 

Mark C. Studenic

       Mark C. Studenic, 47, of Windy Point Drive, Marietta, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 11, 2008.
He was born on November 25, 1961, in Barberton, Ohio, a son of Chuck and Karen (Takacs) Studenic of Copley; 
       Mark was a graduate of Copley High School, Class of 1980, and The University of Akron in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering where he was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha.  He was employed by American Electric Power, Muskingum River Plant, where he held various positions until March, 2007, when he was appointed Plant Manager.  He was a member of morning Rotary where he was Past-President. He was a strong leader and a devoted son, husband and father, always putting his family first.  He had many hobbies including gardening, golf, camping, Playing cards, the out of doors, and animals.   He loved his friends and will be sadly missed.
       Mark is survived by his wife Gaye whom he married on September 13, 1986; his 2 sons and daughter:  Drew a student of The Ohio State University, Aaron and Sarah who live at home; sisters:  Christy (Glenn) Kaszubski of Copley and Laura (Bryan) Paumier of Wadsworth, OH. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
       He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joseph and Ann Studenic and Anna Schumann.
       Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 15th, at 11:00 am at Christ United Methodist Church with Reverend Don Archer officiating.  Friends may call at the funeral home beginning on Sunday at 2:00 pm with family greeting friends from 2 until 4 and from 6 until 8.  Memorial contributions may be made to Arc of Washington County, P.O. Elmer D. Morris

            Elmer Daniel Morris, 89, of Marietta, went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 12, 2008.
            He was born on October 14, 1919, in Marietta to Roy and Mary Gladys Preston Morris. He was a founding member of The Open Door Baptist Church.   During World War II , he served as a corporal in the Medic Division of the Army Air Corp.  He was a member of the Ohio Operating Engineers and retired from Dravo.  He was also the former owner of The Gulf Service Station in Marietta.
            He is survived by one daughter Vikki Morris Piatt and her husband Jerry of Whipple, 3 step daughters:  Helen Huck of Waterford, Mary Lou Moore and her husband Burl of Belpre, and Ruth Bohl and her husband Harold of Lowell; 3 grandchildren:  Melissa Cline and her husband Steve of Whipple, Daniel Whittle and his wife Sandra of Marietta, Trish Schaad and her husband Eric of Ashley, Ohio; 5 great grandchildren Brandon Whittle, Kyle Cline, Madison Whittle, Anna Schaad and Leah Schaad.  Also surviving are 2 brothers: Roy and his wife Elaine of Normantown, WV, and David and his wife Shirley of Marietta; 3 sisters:  Doris Ann Morris, Mary Martha Morris and Letitia Kampmeier of Marietta, sister-in-law JoAnn Morris, and  numerous nieces and nephews, and step grandchildren.
            He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Pauline Hupp Morris, his second wife, Thelma Statts Morris and his son Sammy Morris, his parents, 2 brothers Richard and Karl Morris and sister Sarah Elizabeth Sprague.
            Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 15th, at 1:00 pm at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with Pastor Keith Kappel officiating.  Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Park with full military rites.  Friends may call at the funeral home beginning at 2 pm on Sunday with family present from 2 until 4 and from 6 until 8. 

Ivin Adkins, Jr           

            Ivin Adkins, Jr., 52, of Michaelis Road, passed away at 5:09 am, December 8, 2008 at his home surrounded by his fiancé and sisters.
            He was born March 10, 1956 in West Liberty, KY to Ivin Adkins, Sr. and Lillie Perry Adkins.  Ivin had been employed at Moran Construction. He loved the outdoors especially hunting and fishing, enjoyed playing darts and horseshoes, reading and comedy.  Ivin was also an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, and the number 1 fan of the Country Choice Band.
            Surviving is his fiancé Bettina Miller, a son Ivin Adkins III (Teresa) , daughter Misty Dawn Adkins (Tony)  and stepchildren Aimee (Brandon) Wheeler, Eric Miller and Chad Kammerlohr.  Also surviving are his grandchildren Brandi Adkins and Skyler Adkins.   Sisters Cynthia Burke, Debbie (Peanut) Arthurs, Vivian Fultz (Victor) and Joyce (Jeff) Paulin also survive with many nieces and nephews.
            In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his fiancé’s parents William and Raleen Heiss and his loyal canine companion Zena.
             The Family would like to give a special thank-you to Strecker Cancer Center, Marietta Hospice, Dr. Vivek Abhyankar and his many friends for their care and support.
            A memorial service will be held 6 pm Friday December 12th at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral home.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4 to 6. Memorial contributions may be made to Strecker Cancer Center.

Richard L. Callihan

            Richard L. “Dick” Callihan, 70, of Columbus, OH, passed away on Saturday, December 6, 2008, at 10:00 am at Grant Medical Center in Columbus.
            He was born on February 8, 1938, in Marietta a son of Chauncy and Emma Blair Callihan.  Dick had been employed by DSW Warehouse, Smurf & Stone Container Company, Smith & Burrows Roofing and Marietta Sanitation Corp. He was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles and Loyal Order of Moose and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
            He is survived by 2 sons: Terry Vaughn (Christina) Callihan of Columbus and Rick (Kathy) Callihan of Marietta, and his sister Joan (John) Flynn of North Carolina.
            In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Leora, and daughter Toni.
            Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 2:00 pm at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with burial in Rainbow Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home from 2:00 pm on Wednesday until the hour of the service. 

Jerald F. Stewart

            Jerald Fisher Stewart, 86, of Williamstown, WV, passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2008.
            He was born on September 2, 1922, in Richwood, WV, a son of the late Charles Allen and E. Gay (Gibson) Stewart.  Jerald graduated from Richwood High School and attended Marietta College and Wittenberg College.  He served in the US Army Air Force during WWII and was employed as a supervisor for Union Carbide Corp. for 30 years.  He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Williamstown, American Legion Post 159, Masonic Lodge #129 and Scottish Rite of Parkersburg.
            On August 15, 1942, he married his beloved wife Mary Lucille (Smith) who preceded him in death.  Jerald is survived by his son, Jerald Allen Stewart (Lynn)  of Macedonia, Ohio, and his 2 daughters, Mary Lee Stewart of Columbus and Teresa Ann Mackie of Caldwell, 3 grandchildren:  Ann (Stewart) Berardinelli, Erin (Stewart) Schillo and LCPL Ian Mackie, 2 great grandchildren, Alyssa Lynn Berardenelli and Nicholas Allen Berardinelli.
            Funeral services will be on Friday, December 5th, at  12:00 noon  at First United Methodist Church in Williamstown with Reverend Steve Gedon officiating.  Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery with military rites by American Legion Post 159, Williamstown.  Friends may call on Thursday from 2:00 pm at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home and at the church on Friday from 10 until 12.   Family will be present at the funeral home from 2 until 4 and 6 until 8 on Thursday and Friday at the church from 11:00 am.

Donald W. Davis

       Donald W. Davis, 78, of St. Rt. 26, Marietta, passed away on Tuesday, December 2, 2008, at Marietta Memorial Hospital.
       He was born on October 3, 1930, in Marietta, a son of Raymond W. and Goldie Grace Boyce Davis.  Don had been employed at Crystal Dairy and later retired from Forma Scientific.  He was a member of the Ohio National Guard for 9 years.  Don was a farmer and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
       On February 15, 1953, Don married Mary Amanda Hearn who survives with a son and a daughter:  James E. (Darlene) Davis of New Matamoras and Rosemary A. Davis of Marietta; 2 brothers and 3 sisters:  William E. and Raymond W. Davis, Jr., Rose R. Radabaugh, Bessie A. Gaskins, Patricia M. Lauer, several nieces and nephews, and his beloved dogs Jack and Susie.
       He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother and sister.
       Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 5th, at 10:30 am at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with Pastor Gale Lauderman and Pastor Rick Headley officiating.  Burial will be in Muskingum Valley Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home from 2:00 pm on Thursday with family present from 2 until 4 and from 6 until 8.  Memorial contributions may be made to Little Muskingum Volunteer Fire Department, 15015 St. Rt. 26, Marietta.  On line condolences may be shared at:  www.mslfuneralhome.com.
